Conscious Sedation in Dentistry in Turkey, Istanbul

Sedation is a state of sleep whose depth can be adjusted in a controlled manner by preserving all reflexes with sedative drugs administered by the anaesthesiologist.

Sedation used in dentistry is preferred for those who have to postpone their treatment due to phobia of the dentist and cannot overcome this phobia, those who have excessive nausea reflex and cannot undergo treatment, especially in pediatric group patients where multiple treatments need to be performed at once or in disabled patients with poor co-operation.

Sedation

Specialist dentists of BravoDent Dental Clinic in Istanbul offer painless dental treatment by maintaining the awareness of our patients with conscious sedation. You can also experience this comfort with conscious sedation. You can contact us for detailed information and appointment.

Especially in dentist phobia, which develops as a result of negative experiences at an early age, many patients do not even want to sit in the dentist's chair and cannot stand to see or hear the instruments. This causes the treatment needs in the mouth to be constantly postponed and grow and become difficult to resolve.

In sedation anesthesia administered by a specialist anesthetist, the depth and duration of the drug are adjusted according to the treatment and the age-weight status. The patient is as if he/she is asleep, but he/she can hear the conversations of those around him/her and take commands. However, when he/she wakes up, he/she does not remember the time and the procedure. This gives the physician a great advantage compared to general anesthesia in terms of being able to cooperate with the patient during dental treatment.

The anesthesia is terminated near the end of the procedure and the patient can leave the clinic in about half an hour. As in every procedure, it is very important to obtain detailed health information from the patient to be sedated and the list of medications used, if any, to apply sedation under the right conditions and to perform the procedures by a physician experienced in sedation.
